For example, if you're in cell A1, it should currently say A1 in the Name Box. ![]() This bar has the current cell location printed in it. To create a named cell in Microsoft Excel, select the cell you want to name and click the Name Box next to the formula bar, as shown in the image to the right. Click on the cell name that you want to delete, and click Delete button. The Name Manager window displays and lists ALL of the cell names that have ever been defined in the worksheets in that workbook. Then click Name Manager on the "Defined Names" section of the ribbon.
